With its quiet, tree-lined streets, walking trails, and proximity to Green Lake and the University of Washington, the Ravenna neighborhood is a northeast Seattle gem. Named after Ravenna, Italy, the area is popular with young families, professionals, and UW professors. The neighborhood is bordered by Wedgewood to the north, Bryant to the east, the University District to the south, and Roosevelt to the west.

Residents find it easy to get outside for a walk, jog, or bike ride, with the 50-acre Cowen-Ravenna Park in their backyard. This urban green space has two parks at either end of a serene, half-mile wooded ravine. Between the two parks, there is a wading pool, play structures, tennis courts, and a ballfield. To the north, up Ravenna Boulevard, Green Lake awaits with its looped walking and biking path, picnic areas, swimming beaches, and watersports.

Those working in the office can get to downtown Seattle in minutes, a commute made even quicker when taking the light rail from nearby Roosevelt or the public bus. Bellevue and Redmond are both approximately 20 to 40 minutes away by car.

With good public schools, parks, and athletic fields, Ravenna is a desirable community for families. Many of the homes here are traditional Tudors, bungalows and craftsman-style, making the whole neighborhood feel quintessentially Seattle-like. While there are a few restaurants and shops directly in Ravenna, most residents choose to do their shopping and dining at the nearby U-Village outdoor mall, home to an extensive collection of big brands in clothing, home goods, and electronics. Grocery stores, furniture stores, restaurants, and cafes also line 65th Street, which is within walking distance.

Ravenna continues to be one of the hottest housing markets in Seattle, a place where one can feel comfortably at home in an inviting little pocket of Seattle, while still easily accessing big-city amenities.
